Church in the am, then relaxed while the boys went to first CYL lacrosse scrimmage in ElSeg. I was going to relax before heading to Cathy's but ended up "meeting" with Mitch wrt the program for the Championships and Awards next weekend. Did get a little rest in, where I got to read my book, The Invisible Bridge.
Headed off to TJoe's for the forgotten pint of cream for Daniel's caramels- it took forever. Seemed everyone was there buying goodies for their Oscar parties. Got to Cathy's at about 3:45, but she wasn't satisfied with the Maldon sea salt that I'd brought, so went out to get the Camargue fleur du sel. The Maldon has worked just fine in my past few batches, since I was out of the fleur du sel. I couldn't find the Camargue at my Von's nor at Trader Joe's (and didn't have time/energy/funds to hit Surfa's) so I was just going to use the Maldon. She tried Bristol Farms, but only found it at Gelson's so take note.
We made three double batches of the caramels and will cut, wrap, and pack on Tuesday at 11:15.
While we were working, we got to watch the Oscar Pre-show and the actual ceremony. First time I've seen the awards in its entirety in years. I have a plan for next year- get a bunch of girls together and secure a couple of adjoining hotel rooms at the Century Plaza and dress up with hair and makeup and drink girly drinks all night while watching the show. We could order appetizer trays and bring bottles of girly booze. Sounds fun, right?
Came home to Cam watching Futurama (what else) and Jeff watching some redneck gun show. Right now, they're making a sword- a combination of a katana and a machete. Whatevs...
I have only a couple of days left before work. Sigh. I'm still concerned. Tonight I'm oaky, with having spent hours stirring caramels. A bit tired, a bit sore from sitting, but not that bad. Gearing up for Wednesday/Thursday.
It is quite chilly for a late February in Southern California. Pinky is on full blast and I'm wearing full length yoga pants and a sweatshirt to bed.
