Dear Diary...

Rainy Friday

Well, most of the Friday was not rainy.  It actually didn't start until the minute we picked Cam up from school.

Started out today with Cameron coughing up a storm, so we nebulized him.  He stayed home for a while before deciding that he was okay enough to go to school after recess.  He only missed his spelling test, which he'd aced (all 25 words) on Tuesday with me.

Lazy day, with some pain in my left hip.  Stabby needle pain.  It really hasn't improved too much, still bruisy feeling.  The front open wound is now completely closed and the rear one is backfilling nicely, according to Jeff.  I'm sure it will be entirely healed by next week's appointment with Dr. K.  My only worry really is that left hip/thigh pain.

Took some pain meds today. Two today.  Gearing down to none by the time I get back to work.  That's just over two weeks. Not worried.

Cam lost his rain coat- great timing.  Fortunately all lax games and practices have been cancelled until further notice.

Movies tomorrow morning with Susan and Isaac- some Adam Sandler thing and Pete Dante has a small part.  It's amazing what I forgot I blogged about yesterday, so I'm sure I mentioned it.

Maybe I can get Susan to watch the kids while I go shop for overly expensive jeans and cool shirts.  Not that I can buy any, spending a fortune on a t-shirt I can get at Old Navy or Target for $10.  Yeah, and my bra escapade- two bras and a pair of matching underwear for $140.  Yikes.  That's a whole Target summer wardrobe.

I also hve to get some ON bathingsuits.  At least one bikini for Phoenix.  Crimeny, I'm over 40 and no one is going to be looking at me.  They'll all be looking at the cuties who are under 25.

Cam and I have spent the afternoon watching television and playing on our respective computers. A nothing, yet perfect, day.  Jeff made ribs for dinner, along with broccoli and mashd potatoes. mmmm.

Busy Thursday

Got up, did the lattes, made Cam's lunch and breakfast.  Tried to get him up- his alarm had been beeping for 10 minutes.  Finally had to strip the covers before he admitted to being awake.

Jeff took him to school.  I hung out until lunch with Susan at Gyu-Kaku (YUM!) and then a trip next door to Sew Modern.  Gorgeous fabrics and the best cutting table EVAR.  They also have a longarm quilter- classes are $100 and then you can rent it for $25/hour.  You can also rent Husqvarna machine time for $8/hour.  The space is spacious and bright.  They have classes and also do parties- kids, showers- baby and bridal.  Seems fun.  They have a trench coat class, but by the time you pay for the class and materials it ends up being SO expensive.  Plus, it's something I can do myself.  I might think of doing time there, just for the cutting table and companionship.

I offered to start a sewing circle, posted on facebook, and had a bunch of interest, but no real takers.  Sunday 4- whenever, but everyone seems busy.  Plus faire is starting and that cuts into everyone's time.

Dropped by and picked up Cam at school on my way home since Jeff was at Dr. Nini's for his elbow- everything seems fine, nerve-wise. Jeff had a game to ref, and Cathy and I went to see Cedar Rapids with Ed Helms starring at the Landmark. Mongolian BBQ for dinner.  Enjoyed the movie.  Home- made Cam go to bed and here I am.  Tired now.

Today was fine...

 

Wednesday

I dropped Cam off at school this morning in the rain, then headed to Mary Anne's.  We worked on some things and then I went to UCLA INR for the first time by myself.  It really is a pain to park there.  Ugh- hospitals are not kind to sick people, though I did have an inr of 2.0, so finally theraputic.  Next check is two weeks.

Came home and cuddled with Marley, who is still frightened of the vacuum.

Cam headed off to Treehouse, though he said he didn't want to go (of course it was that there is no xBox at the Fellowship Hall.) We had dinner at Westside Tavern- Yum!  Roasted cauliflower soup, flatbread, herby green salad, and grilled cheese sandwich.

Back to pick Cam up from Treehouse and he did NOT want to leave.  We figured that he'd have a good time, though far be it from him to listen to his parent that might have an idea that he might have a good time without a video game.

uh, i apparently did forget it. whoops.  so much for perfect record.  maybe i'll find an odd picture on another camera.  if i do, i'll post it.

Saturday= Gorgeous

Today was an amazingly beautiful Southern California day.

Drew and Janelle spent the night and were up early dealing with Drew's car alignment at Pep Boys (even before I was up...)

All I had to do was leave at 9:30 to take turdbutt to lacrosse.  It was so warm and gorgeous I had to strip down to my tank top.  Even the Uggs came off.  If I'd been out about 5 more minutes, I would have ended up with a sunburn.

Cam's team won 12-1.  Shooting left handed.  Not attractive lacrosse, but got it done. 

Jeff had a bunch of games to officiate, so Drew, Cam, and I went to Paco's Tacos on Westchester for lunch (Janelle was getting a facial...) It was good and not too expensive.  Maybe we can have to end of year LAX party there.  I think they have an upstairs party room.

Drew took Cam to the LMU v. SDSU game and let me come home for a nap.  Not too long, but it was refreshing.  Janelle and Jeff got home not longer after the boys.  We hung out for a bit watching Cam play CoD:BO then went to Pitfire for dinner.

I ate too much and came home and released the drawstring and let my belly hang out.  I'm not feeling super great, so am just in bed, not being very entertaining. I think I'll go to sleep early.

Friday

(Missing post?  I swore I wrote one...) I went for a walk this morning with Keren.  It was long but slow-ish.  After, we went back to her house for a chat, then she walked me back home.

I hung out in bed for most of the day.

Drew and Janelle came over and we went to Sunnin Cafe for dinner- yum!  Everyone except Cam loved it.

Here's me wearing the t-shirt BBO sent me a couple of weeks ago- go Rolling Stones! (Silly me.)

So I actually hauled my now nearly non-existant ass out of bed before seven this morning, made the morning's hot beverages to order, whipped up hot bagels with cream cheese (no, not from scratch), fixed Cam's lunch, and then ordered him to get dressed.  Got out of taking him to school though, but I would have done it.  Good practice, and gearing up for going back to work.  It's just so flipping cold in the morning.  I supposed I could put some pants on with my uggs and sweat shirt.

Then promptly got back in bed for a rest until shower time.  Still have to cover the open wounds until I next see the surgeon, but Jeff says they're looking almost closed.  Showered, skyped with Mom for a bit, and then took a nap until Cathy called.

I went over to her house to do the invites for Cathy's mom's Friday night Bar Mitzvah dinner for the out of towners.  Very easy, thanks to Paper Source's downloadable templates.  Her mom came over to see Cathy's party dress choices and treated us to a fashion show.

Then we went over to Ophir to see the progress and changes the new designer had suggested.  Looks great!  Lunch at Fresh Corn Grill... mmmmm.  I had exactly the same thing I always have half soup (corn chowder) and salad (grilled veggies with chicken.)

Picked up Cameron at school, then came home to help with homework.  He's happily playing on  xBox live right now with an eighth grader from Mississississississippi.  Jeff's monitoring the situation.

I'm feeling like I have to concentrate on standing up straight.  If I don't think about it, I end up walking all hunched over- stomach is still very tight.  Keren and I are going to walk around the 'hood tomorrow after drop-off.  I'll do as much as I can, whilst concentrating on my posture.

Dinner was chili chicken lime patty with cheese and part of a bagel. Good.  Better that I didn't have to make it.
