I assembled the brownie treats for the Derby this afternoon after work. They came out adorable! Box mix, can o' frosting, gummie lifesavers adhered with frosting. Simple- a total knockout with the kids. They wouldn't have appreciated scratch brownies and buttercream piped and organic gummy thingies. They were perfect and I received tons of compliments.
The derby was a smash! Beth L., our Pinewood Derby chair did the most amazing job- delegating what needed to be delegated, scheduled perfectly, and ran a tight ship. She's a treasure, for sure.
Cam, after four years of not winning a thing, came away with the prize for most creative car. Here it is:
It's a Vans shoe. IT came out great- my picture isn't that good, but it was so creative- Jeff Spicoli would have been jealous.
Here he is with his prizes- a ribbon, a patch for his jacket, and a $15 gift card to Target. Woot! He can buy a game for game night.
I'm tired- it's already almost the week done, one day of work, and I feel like it's Friday. Sigh. State testing starts on Tuesday, and it is going so fast. At staff meeting today, Becki reminded us that there are only eight more weeks of school left. Those weeks will FLY. (I hope.)
Whooped.
