Today was eyebrows and toenails and hooky. Still feeling a bit wonky after yesterday's lunch incident, but not bad enough to stay home in bed. Shopped, made ziti and cupcakes for the International Dinner, which turned out wonderfully.

Cheaty Thursday
I came home early today after testing. Lunch apparently did not agree with me, and I had to lay on the floor for at bit before the kids came in from recess. I couldn't even get up off the floor to phone Becki with the classroom phone, so I pulled my cell phone of its charger on the bookcase behind my desk. She let me go home early, though I was concerned about making it home on my bad stomach ache. I got home, drank a big glass of water and went to sleep for two hours. Just tiiiiiiiired. Testing is stressful.
Then I picked up Cam and we went to Cost Plus to pick up goodies for Jen's birthday. I found the prettiest wrapping paper to wrap gifts she'd had on her Amazon wishlist. Kitcheny things. Cam gave her his glass rose. Lovely, but a bit of a dust collector. Her party was fun- she has funny friends. Cam and Jeff came after lax practice. Danny gave him a bunch of Tron books and I think he's finished them all. Not a bad thing.
We got home late. All of us were tired.

Wednesday
Hair day today... Love getting it done. Shampooing is so relaxing, I could fall asleep in the chair.
Testing is going fine. Two days down, four to go. Next week is math, which is usually a breeze. The kids who are going to get it, get it. The kids who don't get it usually won't, even with assistance. The way things are worded are tricky, plus the instructions are all oral- no written instructions, which severely handicaps our ESL kids.

Hot Tuesday
It was the start of STAR testing today, and a hot one. I'm achy...
Steak, rice, and salad for dinner. It was nice. Cam had rice for the first time in a couple of years, with the doctor's permission. He's due for allergy tests soon.

Sunday is Faire
Waking up and having a short drive to faire is wonderful. Drove Ian and Cam to site and stayed for a bit. WFAD! I had the best time- it's so much fun for a change. I got to wear my hair down and have a garland. I loved it. I didn't love the leaving at one for a lacrosse game.
Cam had a hard defeat to the Snakes. He played well, but his D kept falling apart. The coaches are rotating out the defense, which is fine so everyone has a chance to play different positions, but it's so quick that it doesn't give them enough time to develop.
