i'm nervous about returning to work on Thursday. terrified actually. i know it's rather unreasonable and that everything will be fine. today i went to trader joe's for a marketing foray and by the time i got there, home, unpacked the groceries, i was in pain and had to rest. how am i going to handle 7+ hours of up and down all day long with only a couple of breaks and no warm bed to which to retreat? imagine the tightest pair of spanx EVER and that's how my muscles feel- not awful pain, more like a hard workout the next morning- tightness with a bit of pain.
i'm doing stretching and seeing the chiro, plus a couple of miles of walking every other day. you'll find it hard to believe how i look. i'm sure the reality will be much better than what i'm making up in my mind.
i can't put it off any longer and we can't survive- at least at the nice lifestyle to which we are accustomed : ). I have five weeks with a substitute in my room as an assistant- glorious! then 2 weeks on my own in the room without assistance, 10 days of spring break, and then a few more weeks before summer starts. it's going to go quickly. still trying out how to travel this summer (without the boys.)
someone, send me pictures of cool glasses- costco ain't cutting it...
i'm doing the party favors for daniel's bar mitzvah- a small box of my honey vanilla fleur du sel caramels. they'll double as place cards. we're making three double batches. the cooking is the easy part- it's the cutting, wrapping, boxing, tying, and labeling that takes the time. so we have FOUR people to help. we'll cook tomorrow- stirring while we watch the oscars. tuesday cat has some friends (and her mom) coming to assembly line the favors.
yesterday, my tasteful friend cathy took me shoe shopping yesterday and i bought a nice pair of shoes (HIGH heels) to go with my dress for her son's bar mitzvah party at Spago next Saturday. i'll have to do a lot of practice walking, but i have to say that i look pretty spectacular! I'll try to get a nice photo to post next week.
i'm going to get my hair blown out (the drybar- a salon where ALL they do is wash and blow dry your hair- it's awesome.) if i have time, i'll get fakey eyelashes. No spray tan this time because I always end up looking like an oompa loompa. lol, always... i did it once, for alex's wedding.
it will be a busy day- temple service at 10, lacrosse at 2, hair at 5, cocktail hour at 6:30. woohoo! i can't wait. i might have jeff do car service for me- cheaper than a taxi. maybe i can bum a ride home with debbie.
